Training 1lakh nurses from Bihar
Bihar was recently ranked the second-lowest in the ‘School Education Quality Index’ (SEQI) report released by NITI Aayog. Only 33% of Bihar’s population in the 16-17 years age group are enrolled in school, and only 44% of students are transitioning from secondary to higher secondary. More importantly, more than 1.2Million youth, aged between 18-23 years, are entering the job market without good quality education/skill. A significant number of them keep preparing for exams for civil services, banks, and other government jobs while living on their family’s income or savings.
Through this project we are targeting to drive skills training among Biharis to get them ready the job market of 2023.
As part of the project we aim to drive skill development in healthcare sector - by providing training to 1 lakh women in Bihar and enable them to pursue a career in the healthcare sector as a nurse. If you know someone who is interested in taking up the training or are willing to sponsor trainings, please connect with us at bihar.neo@gmail.com

Flood Prevention
Based on primary research done by Bihar Fast forward team, we have found that the technology of “BIOPORE INFILTRATION HOLE” can have a significant positive impact on flooding, waste management and also improving soil fertility and groundwater levels. Kamir R. Brata a researcher at the Institute of Agriculture (IPB), Indonesia, is the inventor of Biopore holes technology. It works by water absorption method which is used to reduce the surface runoff and inundation effect by increasing the water infiltration capacity into the ground.

The scope of the project initially will be to validate the concept, evaluate the application of technology in Bihar's context, and define a plan.
Bihar Fast Forward team is looking for people in the technology and science fields to join hands to explore the topic further. If you are a student or an expert in this area, we look forward to joining us to solve the problem.
If you know people who can help drive the initiative, please help us connect with them.

Reviving Music of Bihar
Bihar’s music has over time became a topic of ridicule and become synonym to vulgar and cheesy. The people of Bihar are not being served good quality music they deserve, in their languages and dialect. There is very limited good quality music content available in Bihar's languages on the internet at the moment (see here).
We are looking for ways to revive the original music of Bihar and make it mainstream. This project is focused on enabling Young talented musicians to contribute to the revival of the music of Bihar. As part of the project, Team BiharFastForward (BFF) is looking to create a library of good quality music in any of the five languages/dialects of Bihar - Angika, Bajjika, Bhojpuri, Magahi, and Maithili
Steps to participate :
-
Find a song (or write your own) in any of the five languages: Angika, Bajjika, Bhojpuri, Magahi, and Maithili
-
Sing one song (or multiple) along with an instrument of your choice. If you can't play an instrument, you can mix your recording with music on a computer
-
The recorded video/audio submitted must be of minimum two minutes duration
-
You can participate as a group or as an individual
-
Send the video recording to us via any video file sharing method (google drive, youtube, others) - and send an email to us at bihar.neo@gmail.com with subject BFF Music. In the email, you need to provide the following details - Name, FacebookID/TwitterID and Name of the Song(s), Lyrics of the Song
-
We will then upload the video on BiharFastForward Youtube and Facebook channels if they align with our mission objectives. Team BFF will have the sole direction to accept, deny, or edit any entries submitted.
We invite musicians to pick up their guitars or harmoniums (or any other musical instrument) and sing a song in any of the five languages and record the video. So whether you are a college student in a hostel, or a kid in school, or a professional singer, Bihar is looking up to you to lead the revival of the real Bihari music.
